See historic Brookside decorated for Christmas by local florists and designers. Purchase tickets in the North Campus lobby on event days. Free parking at North Campus; shuttles available. Admission: $6 per person; $25 maximum per family of six. Senior Day admission: $4 for seniors 55 and older.

Breakfast with Saint Nicholas

Saturday, Dec. 6: 9:45 a.m.-noon

Enjoy food and fun activities with family and friends while learning about the legacy of Saint Nicholas. Admission: $10 per adult and $5.50 per child (12 & under). Living Nativity

Sunday, Dec. 7: 6 p.m.
Children’s petting zoo: 5-5:45 p.m.

As an Advent tradition, members of the university community present a Living Nativity that witnesses to the power and presence of God’s love incarnate throughout history. Hear St. Francis tell the story of the first Christmas, much as he did in 1223 in Greccio, Italy. Parking is available off Leesburg Road; admission is free.

Lighting of the Lake

Sunday, Dec. 7: 6 p.m.

As a shining symbol of Christmas, vigil lights will encircle Mirror Lake. You may dedicate one or more luminaries to a loved one, in memory of someone special, to recognize a special occasion, or just to wish a student good luck with final exams. Call 260.399.8034 to order luminaries by December 2. Cost: $10 per luminary.

The Messiah

Sunday, Dec. 7: 7:30 p.m.

This performance of Georg Friedrich Handel’s immortal work will feature the professional singers of Heartland, the Heartland Festival Chorus and Orchestra, the University Singers and internationally renowned soloists. For more information visit heartlandchorale.org.

National Contemporary Painting Exhibition

Brenda Moore Exhibition and 50th photos by Stephan Perfect

This exhibition will present works by 12 nationally recognized artists that focus on painting as an artistic medium. A variety of subject matter from realism to abstraction will be on display.

Tim Parsley, assistant professor at USF’s School of Creative Arts, will have a solo exhibition of paintings, drawings and collages. His works ask us to reconsider the history of America and the complicated effects of its constructive ambition.
